In Search Of An Evening Flower
(S.Leahy)

1.
In this garden here we are,
Two pale flowers and one bright star,
And here we wait to sow another,
That only other flowers know,
Will it blossom or will it fade,
Or maybe bloom a lighter shade,
But I have seen seeds that scatter,
And colour after rain and snow.

Chorus:
We might never see that flower,
Or maybe ever watch it grow,
But I would surely find no other,
Like the coloured flower I know.

2.
In this garden we'll remain,
Lose our colour 'til Spring again,
And too this flower we'll surrender,
If it ever comes our way,
Will it be yellow, or will it be green,
Or maybe coloured like you or me,
Goodnight 'til Summer and Winter's over,
Here's to the light of a brand new day.
